Since Zachary Levi revealed an official look at his Shazam! costume, the internet’s reaction was quick, loud, and uncharacteristically positive.
Of course, not everyone is on board with Levi’s Shazam costume. Still, the support for the look has been surprisingly vast:

Despite these positive reactions, the internet is still the internet. There’s never a shortage of people complaining on Twitter. Here are some examples:
So the official promo for the movie is basically "Shazam sucks"

All the negative comments are more-or-less like that. They’re nitpicks. Still, it’s understandable that people aren’t too excited. DC hasn’t had the best record lately when it comes to the film adaptations. It will take a lot for them to earn back some of that trust they lost with flops like Suicide Squad. Luckily, Shazam! seems to be a huge step in the right direction. If WB can pull it off, there might be hope for DC’s cinematic universe. However, only time will tell.
So, what do you think about the costume? Let us know down in the comments!
Shazam! stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Grace Fulton, Jack Dylan Grazer, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand and Mark Strong as Doctor Sivana. Here’s the official synopsis:
“We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).”
Shazam! hits theaters on April 5, 2019.
10 Things You Didn’t Know About Shazam
Shazam may look like a Superman rip-off, but he’s so much more than that. Created way back in 1939, Captain Marvel (now referred to solely as Shazam) is an incredibly complex character. After a teenager named Billy Batson stumbles upon a Wizard called Shazam, his whole life changes. Granted magical powers, Billy transforms into a superhero but keeps his childish personality whenever he’s fighting evil.
Chosen to serve as a defender of justice for the Wizard, Billy is given a wide range of powers. Whenever Billy yells the wizard’s name, he transforms into the powerful Captain Marvel and rushes off to fight evil. A lot has changed for the character over his 77 year history, but he still has so much more room to grow! With Shazam! hitting theaters next year, the character’s popularity will start to grow and it’s likely he’ll receive a new comic book series soon, so you might as well start learning everything you can about the character now.
