Star Wars Celebration Europe has added some big names. Writer/Director Rian Johnson, of Star Wars: Episode VIII, along with, Chris Miller and Phil Lord, of the untitled Han Solo project will be attending the convention which is taking place in Europe in the next two weeks.
The directors were announced on The Star Wars Show, Lucasfilm’s YouTube spot.
All three of these directors will be taking the stage with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, Story Group’s Pablo Hidalgo and SVP of Development Kiri Hart for an “informal conversation.” The conversation will be focusing on the future of Star Wars. The conversation will be taking place at the Future Filmmakers Panel on Sunday, July 17 at the convention in London.
With Celebration Europe scheduled for July 15-17, anticipation is growing high in this post-The Force Awakens environment with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story coming to theaters this Christmas, and Episode VIII currently in production. And in an inevitable move, StarWars.com has confirmed that a Rogue One panel will be held on July 15, with the film’s director Gareth Edwards and Kathleen Kennedy set to attend. If Celebration Anaheim was any indication, cast members from the upcoming Star Wars Story may participate in this panel and perhaps a new trailer may be released during this time as well.
Following the foundation of the Galactic Empire, a wayward band of Rebel fighters come together to carry out a desperate mission: to steal the plans for the Death Star before it can be used to enforce the Emperor’s rule.
