In last night’s Riverdale, it was revealed that Alice Cooper (Mädchen Amick) used to live in Southside many years ago as FP (Skeet Ulrich) brought that fact up during their scene together. But FP indicated that there might be more to the story, hinting to viewers that maybe Alice was a member of the Southside Serpents.
In the latest edition of Entertainment Weekly’s Spoiler Room with Natalie Abrams, a fan asked for some scoop on whether that is the case. Abrams recently spoke with show-runner and executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa as he talked about Alice’s possible history with the Serpents.
While Aquirre-Sacasa wouldn’t go into details on that, since they just started working on stories for Season 2, the show-runner did admit that they have talked a lot about Alice possibly having that history. Whether she used to be a member of that gang or not, we will find out in the second season.
“We just started the writers’ room for season 2 and we’ve been talking about that a lot. What we learn in this episode is she’s from the Southside, but stepped out of it and cleaned herself up and became the perfect [mother]. We’re going to explore much more about what Alice’s backstory is both in this season and in season 2.”
Riverdale will be on a short hiatus next week, but will be back with the remaining episodes of Season 1 on Thursday, April 27 with episode 11 titled “To Riverdale and Back Again”. You can check out the extended trailer for the episode along with promotional photos at the bottom.
