’Riverdale’ WonderCon 2017: Marisol Nichols & Mädchen Amick

Riverdale WonderCon 2017 Marisol Nichols Madchen AmickOne of the biggest new hits of the ongoing TV season is the Archie Comics live-action series Riverdale as it joined The CW’s big comic book TV line-up by bringing the Archie Universe to life. With only a few episodes remaining of Season 1, everything is starting to come full circle as we are getting closer to finding out who killed Jason Blossom while also following the lives of the people in Riverdale.

Last week Heroic Hollywood participated in the Riverdale press room where we chatted with the actors and producers behind the show to get some teases about what’s coming up in Season 1 and a little bit about Season 2. We had the pleasure to chat with Marisol Nichols and Mädchen Amick who play Hermione Lodge and Alice Cooper respectively.

In last week’s episode, we saw the two mothers finally bond a little bit as they have been clashing since the show began. When asked whether or not we will see more bonding time between Hermione and Alice, Amick teased that while it’s a slow process that will continue into the second season, we will definitely see the two women bond more.

“We are working on it, it’s a slow process! I think we will get more to it in Season 2 to be completely honest with you. But I think there might be a little crack in the armor between Alice and Hermione.”

Nichols added that the bonding scene was one mother reaching out to another mother and putting their issues aside as Hermione was trying to help Alice heal her relationship with Polly.

“It was like ‘put the guns down’, this was a mother to mother conversation and the guns may be picked back up!”

More highlights from the full roundtable interview:

-Amick on getting to see Alice bring her shield down a little and see the human side of Mama Cooper.

-Whether or not we will see flashbacks of Hermione and Alice in high school and get more background on their relationship.

-If the Fred/Hermione relationship will be in trouble when Hiram Lodge gets out of prison.

-How they enjoy the social media aspect of the show and getting that immediate fan response from viewers.
