Robbie Amell Wants To Star In A Live-Action ‘Batman Beyond’ Film

Everyone wants to be Batman. But from the sounds of things Robbie Amell, who plays Ronnie Raymond on The Flash, might want to go beyond that. The actor had a panel this weekend at Salt Lake Comic Con and was asked by one of the fans in attendance had a very specific question. The fan questioned Amell if he would have any interest in playing Terry McGinnis in a live-action Batman Beyond film and it seems Amell had already put some thought into this one because he seemingly already had a pitch ready to go for the adaptation.

I am a huge fan of that idea. I think the problem is because they have Batman going on right now, they won’t make the Batman Beyond movie until I’m too old to be Terry McGinnis. By then I’ll probably be the old, crusty Batman. But I’m a huge fan of that idea. I think it would be a great property. I think the smartest idea for them would be to make it like a $30 million movie. Don’t do like a $200 million blockbuster, do a dark, gritty version of Batman Beyond. The visual effects have come so far that you don’t need $200 million to show the technology that they have. Make it a nice, grounded character piece. But I don’t run studios, so that means nothing.

Is this a crazy notion? Not entirely considering the fact that Boaz Yakin was actually developing a live-action Batman Beyond film with Paul Dini and Alan Burnett in the early 2000’s before Christopher Nolan came around with Batman Begins. However, with the DC Extended Universe just kicking off, it’s beyond unlikely that we will see anything along these lines any time soon. Let us know your thoughts on this one in the comments below.
