Robert Pattinson is set to replace Ben Affleck as Batman in Matt Reeves’ upcoming standalone film and thanks to this incredible new image, the actor gets an amazing Arkham Knight inspired Batsuit to back him up for the job.

Fans were in shock when they learned that Robert Pattinson would be replacing Ben Affleck as the new Batman. But it didn’t take long for everyone to get used to the idea of Robert Pattinson as the next Dark Knight and fans began creating artwork to envision the former Twilight start replacing Ben Affleck in the role. A new image from Willgray_art gives Robert Pattinson an Arkham Knight inspired Batsuit and it looks like a perfect choice to follow up Ben Affleck’s Frank Miller inspired costume. Robert Pattinson has become quite the commodity in Hollywood lately and his schedule is only getting busier. Not only is he set to replace Ben Affleck as the next Batman, but Robert Pattinson is also currently shooting Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film Tenet in which he’ll star. The film is scheduled to be released in 2020. But that’s not all, Robert Pattinson has also been cast with Sebastian Stan and Tom Holland in The Devil All the Time.

Plot details for The Batman remain under lock and key. Rumors once pointed to an early draft of the script featuring Ben Affleck bookending the standalone film as his current Batman while the film also introduced a younger version of the character. But with Ben Affleck retired from the role, Robert Pattinson will officially replace the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League actor in the role.

While not much is known, Matt Reeves has confirmed The Batman featuring Robert Pattinson will not be based on Frank Miller’s Year One comic and will feature Batman as the world’s greatest detective more than previous iterations have in the past. Production is expected to kick off early next year.

The Batman is one of the many projects currently being developed by Warner Bros. and DC Films. The list also includes The Flash standalone film, Green Lantern Corps, Black Adam, Supergirl, New GodsNightwingand DC’s Suicide Squad spin-off Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) with Margot Robbie.

The DCEU continues with Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) on February 7, 2020, followed by Wonder Woman 1984 on June 5, 2020. A standalone Joker film set outside of the DC Films universe starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime is also set to hit theaters October 4, 2019.
