‘Rogue One’: Ben Mendelsohn Discusses His Role As Director Krennic; Plus New Images

Rogue One

The hype continues to grow for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which will arrive in theaters in just under a month. Empire Magazine recently revealed six Rogue One-themed covers for their latest issue, but they’ve now unveiled a brand new image from the upcoming movie, featuring Ben Mendelsohn as Director Orson Krennic.

Speaking with the magazine, Mendelsohn revealed a few new details about his villainous character. He also shed some light on the relationship between Krennic and Darth Vader, explaining why the two don’t get along:

“It’s fair to say Lord Vader and he aren’t friendly. Darth is very much about the Force. Krennic is force. Not really down with the whole mystical thing. Krennic does not come “from the aristocracy of the Empire, if you like. He is truly a man that has made his own way up the chain through his own abilities. His weapon, for instance, is a very old type of blaster, because he’s an old warrior dude. He’s been put in charge of making this thing happen. And it’s gonna get done!”

You can check out the still below along with a behind-the-scenes image of director Gareth Edwards and star Felicity Jones on the set of the movie.
