We are just one month away from the opening of the next Star Wars film, Rogue One, as Felicity Jones takes the screen as Jyn Erso who is on a big mission with a group of individuals. In a new interview with Vanity Fair, Jones spoke about her personal hopes and goals for how her character is received and how she wants girls to invest in Jyn as a character.
“I just hope that girls like the movie and can invest in Jyn’s story and care about her. It is quite nice now that instead of a fish’s tail, girls can see a cool female character who’s got a blaster and can run really fast.”
“From Lucasfilm comes the first of the Star Wars standalone films, ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,’ an all-new epic adventure. In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.”
Gareth Edwards’ Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, starring Felicity Jones as Jyn Erso, Diego Luna as Cassian Andor, Ben Mendelsohn as Orson Krennic, Donnie Yen as Chirrut Îmwe, Mads Mikkelsen as Galen Erso, Alan Tudyk as K-2SO, Jiang Wen as Baze Malbus, Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera, opens in theatres on December 16.
