‘Rogue One’ Writer Tony Gilroy Taking On Additional Duties

The next Star Wars project, Rogue One hasn’t been able to avoid controversial headlines ever since reshoots were announced. It is now being reported that Tony Gilroy, an uncredited writer on Rogue One, will be supervising editing with input from director Gareth Edwards. Gilory was involved with the reshoots that took place on the film.

Sources close to the film have explained that Gilroy will be taking a leading role when it comes to post-production. Gareth Edwards will remain involved in the editing of Rogue One.

Edwards and Gilory have worked together professionally before during the making of Edwards Godzilla.

Disney has not yet commented.

 Rogue One follows a group of Rebel fighters who come together in order to steal the plans for the Death Star. Rogue One stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, and Jonathan Aris.

Following the foundation of the Galactic Empire, a wayward band of Rebel fighters come together to carry out a desperate mission: to steal the plans for the Death Star before it can be used to enforce the Emperor’s rule.
