‘Rogue One’ Writer Gary Whitta Expresses Interest In ‘Star Trek’

Rogue One
The Star Wars vs. Star Trek debate has been going ever since the beginning of their co-existence, although most fans have enough room in the hearts for both franchises. One of those fans is Rogue One: A Star Wars Story writer Gary Whitta, credited alongside executive producer John Knoll with the films story, who revealed in an interview with Loot Crate that he would relish the opportunity to work on a Star Trek film.

Whitta revealed which franchises he would love to work on, mentioning he would not hesitate to work on Star Trek.

“One of [the other franchises I want to work on] is definitely the amazing Mouse Guard graphic novels by David Petersen, and I’m lucky enough to be adapting them as a feature film for 20th Century Fox right now. Beyond that if I were ever given the chance to write something in the Star Trek universe I would jump at it.”

Though Whitta could not reveal his future projects, he did tease that he is working on something that may appeal to fans of both Star Wars and Star Trek.

“I’m actually working on a couple of things right now that fit into this category as well, but I’m not allowed to talk about them. Ha!”
