Ron Howard Teases The Kessel Run In ‘Han Solo’ Spin-Off

Star Wars Han Solo Howard Kessel RunRon Howard has taken to Twitter to share yet another set photo from the upcoming Untitled Han Solo Star Wars Story, this time teasing fans with the possible inclusion of the Kessel Run.

The Kessel Run was a hyperspace route smugglers used to transport spice from the spice mines of Kessel. The route itself includes many extreme changes in velocity in order to jump into and out of hyperspace, spending only the minimum amount of time out of hyperspace as they make pickups, drop cargo, or make tight turns. Both Han Solo and the Millennium Falcon were famous for having made the run in less than 12 parsecs.

Plot details are still under wraps but the film is set to chronicle the young Han Solo, played by Alden Ehrenreich, from years of 18-24 in his life and will include meeting Chewbacca and finding (or perhaps winning) the Millennium Falcon.

The Untitled Han Solo Star Wars Story has been written by Lawrence Kasdan and son Jon Kasdan. The film stars Alden Ehrenreich as the young Han Solo along with Joonas Suotomo as Chewbacca and Donald Glover as the young Lando Calrissian. The cast also includes Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Ian Kenny.

The Untitled Han Solo Star Wars Story is currently slated for release on May 25, 2018. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the future of the Star Wars franchise as we learn it.
