RUMOR: Cate Blanchett’s Villainous ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Role Possibly Revealed; Will She Appear In ‘Infinity War’?

Recently word hit that Cate Blanchett was in talks to join the cast of the upcoming 2017 Thor: Ragnarok. Following this, actor Mark Ruffalo seemingly confirmed that she had indeed joined the film’s cast and would be playing a villain in the threequel. Now it seems that we may have some potential details regarding what role the actress will be playing in the film and how it may end up connecting to the larget Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Geek.com is reporting that sources have revealed to them that film’s “big bad” will be Hela. the ruler of Hel and the realm of Niflheim. While the sources did not confirm that this will be Blanchett’s role, it’s pretty safe to assume that this is the likely option if true. The site then added that the character would “make it to Asgard, where she’ll be in cahoots with Tom Hiddleston’s Loki, current motives unknown.”

There is also a bit of speculation that we could see Hela replace Death in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the object of Thanos affection. Does this make sense? Totally. Why introduce two different characters that represent death? Especially considering you have some amazing talent already in one of those roles. The site also added some plot spoiler that I’m choosing not to share here but you can check out at the source link. As always, this is just a rumor at the moment but let us know your thoughts on the above in the comments section below.
