RUMOR: ‘Justice League’ May Have Two Post-Credits Scenes

Thus far, the DC Extended Universe has been rather sparing with its post-credits scenes compared to either of its Marvel counterparts (Disney’s Marvel Studios and their Marvel Cinematic Universe and Twentieth Century Fox’s Marvel division and their X-Men Film Series), as Man of SteelBatman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Wonder Woman all opted out on having tags during and after the credits – only Suicide Squad featured an additional sequence for those who stuck around. But rumor has it that Justice League could be bucking that trend in a big way, as the superhero team-up could have not one, but two after-credits scenes.

Heroic Hollywood Editor-in-Chief and The Wrap reporter Umberto Gonzales has been on the lookout for DCEU-related scoops this year, and recently dropped one explaining when Matt Reeves’s The Batman could start filming. But right now, a lot of focus is on Justice League, since it’s the next major release. Gonzales explained roughly fifteen minutes into a periscope session that multiple post-credits scenes for Justice League have been conceptualized:

“I know the post-credits scenes of Justice League. I’m not gonna tell you, because them’s spoilers… There are two of them, and I know one of them, but if you guys have been following my Twitter clues, then you can probably get a hint at what they are.”

As Justice League‘s story is still being adjusted – with the revisions made as a result of Zack Snyder and Joss Whedon adjusting the script – and a final cut is not yet ready, there is a chance that one or both of these planned post-credits scenes might not make the cut. But seeing as DC is aiming to reinvent their approach to superhero filmmaking, it wouldn’t be too surprising if they were to involve themselves in an approach that pretty much every mega-franchise has embraced by including one – or having a second to make up for lost time with three of their other movies.

Justice League unites on November 17, 2017. The superhero epic features a cast that includes Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne (Batman), Henry Cavill as Kal-El/Clark Kent (Superman), Gal Gadot as Diana Prince (Wonder Woman), Jason Momoa as Orin/Arthur Curry (Aquaman), Ezra Miller as Barry Allen (The Flash), Ray Fisher as Victor Stone (Cyborg), Ciarán Hinds as Steppenwolf, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, Robin Wright as General Antiope, J. K. Simmons as Commissioner James ‘Jim’ Gordon, Joe Morton as Dr. Silas Stone, Amber Heard as Mera, Billy Crudup as Dr. Henry Allen, and Kiersey Clemons as Iris West. Julian Lewis Jones and Michael McElhatton are also in the movie in unspecified roles.

Henry Cavill Superman Man of SteelThe DC Extended Universe is having a massive year with the overwhelming success of Wonder Woman and the immense hype for the release of Justice League. The upcoming superhero team-up epic is what Warner Bros. has been building towards for the past few years and it is the first time we will the see the League assembled on the big screen. It echoes similarly to when The Avengers first teamed up 5 years ago. Justice League is going to be a huge event with several iconic DC heroes, but the character that most people are waiting to see is the Man of Steel himself, Superman.

At the end of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Superman makes the choice to sacrifice himself. With him currently being gone and set to make his return in Justice League, there are things that fans would like to see from Kal-El. Henry Cavill’s Superman has so far been the most divisive DCEU character. There are a lot of things that need to be embraced and altered when he returns so that he feels like the Superman from the comics that fans have been clamouring for ever since his debut in Man of Steel

I would love a post credit scene in which the Justice League members visit a hospital and meet the Justice League kids featured in Josh Rossi’s photo shoot:

I feel bad for Zack Synder. Imagine having some dude coming in a rewriting your creative stuff that you’ve probably spent all year grinding on. And they’re still trying to finalize the cut. The version of the post credits are going to be determined by whose vision the studios ultimately go with… “Zack Snyder v Joss Whedon: Dawn of Being Justified with The Final Cut.” Anyway, for a super hardcore view of Zack Snyder’s philosophical take on Batman, take a look at this YT video:
