RUMOR: Possible Plot Details For ‘Bond 25’ May Have Been Leaked

James Bond Daniel Craig
Last month, Daniel Craig confirmed that he will return as 007 for the 25th installment of the James Bond franchise and now Page Six has unveiled possible plot details for the upcoming entry in the longstanding film series.

Hollywood insiders have reportedly informed the outlet that the story for Bond’s next adventure will find the British Secret Sevice agent seeking revenge following a personal tragedy. According to the outlet’s source, “Bond quits the secret service, and he’s in love and gets married.” Likening the film to the Liam Neeson thriller Taken, the source claims that Bond’s wife will be killed, prompting 007 to return to action in an effort to avenge her murder.

The outlet’s source says that Bond will be married to Léa Seydoux’s Dr. Madeleine Swann, who was introduced in the previous film in the franchise titled Spectre. The film concluded with James Bond leaving the secret service with Madeleine Swann by his side.

Personally, the unconfirmed plot for Bond 25 does not inspire enthusiasm for the project. Not only is the story of a man seeking revenge for the death of a loved one a tired trope, similar stories have been depicted in the franchise before, including the first two installments of Daniel Craig’s Bond films. Furthermore, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service concluded with James Bond marrying Tracy di Vicenzo only for her to be killed when Ernst Stavro Blofeld opens fire on their vehicle.

Neal Purvis and Robert Wade will return to write the script and a director has yet to be announced.

Bond 25 is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on November 8, 2019.

I hope this turns out to be not true.

The writer failed to mention that this is very similar to OHMSS.

Thanks for mention that! As a Bond fan, I can’t believe it slipped my mind. I’ve added an update. Thanks again for the reminder!

Not really surprising news given the two lame writers they have for the film.

Yes, this will be Craig’s last outing so it makes sense for it to be the accumulation of his films to date. The only way to do that really is to have Bloefeld hit out at Bond, cause him some kind of personal tragedy and end the whole thing with Bond executing Bloefeld. This gives the Craig bond a closed loop and allows the producers a completely fresh start.

It’s a cliche yes, but so are most bond films, if done well it could be an excellent story and a much better ending than Spectre.
