The 40th anniversary is looking up! A 4K UHD of the first movie is coming! I have seen the stack of cans containing the original camera negatives for ‘Superman-The Movie’ at Warner Bros., and can now confirm that a new 4K scan (achieved with a new scanner) and remaster of the theatrical cut of ‘Superman-The Movie’ is underway. The box art featured here is a mock-up that I created and sent to Warner Bros. in March 2016 when I contacted them about doing a proper 4K UHD release. I have no confirmed release date. Classic DC Comics Action Figures Coming To SDCC 2018
Two old-school DC Comics covers are being brought to plastic life thanks to Mattel.
With San Diego Comic Con being the place where fans can find all things exclusive there, it should come as no surprise that DC Comics would have a few things there to amuse their fans. And now, thanks to Mattel, two classic covers are being converted into toys that fans can enjoy either by themselves or with their children (if they have any), as revealed by the Hollywood Reporter.
Hot Wheels DC Superman Action Comics No.1 contributes to the Man Of Steel’s 80th anniversary by replicating the iconic cover of Superman’s first appearance, with Superman lifting a car, while criminals run around in sheer panic. Said car is a removable Hot Wheels car, while Superman himself is a 3-D sculpt, made to look like what he did back in his early appearances. The item will sell for $20.00.
The next item, DC Comics Multiverse Aquaman Between Two Dooms Figures 3-Pack, will adapt the cover featuring the first appearance of Aquaman’s archenemy, Black Manta, as he and Ocean Master have the King Of The Sea cornered. The set also features beautifully sculpted figures, and packing with awesome artwork that evokes an almost Silver Age feel. This item sells at $60.00
So if you’re a fan of either character or just a DC fan in general, save up your money for these great additions for your collection.
