RUMOR: Who’s Switching Sides In Civil War?

Most of us were surprised to see Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) siding with Iron Man when rumors hit a few months ago detailing the teams in next year’s Captain America: Civil War.

Popular opinion at the time suggested that she would be a mole inside Team Stark, and reveal herself through the course of the plot as having always been on Captain America’s side.  This would make sense given the development of Widow and Cap’s relationship in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, as well as the ending of this year’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, which literally placed Widow as Cap’s right hand woman during the Avenger’s role call.

As obvious as this may be, we could be very wrong.

The latest rumor coming from That Hashtag Show reveals that the Vision will be changing sides during Civil War, leaving Iron Man’s team for Captain America’s.  The rumor goes on to suggest that, at the end of the film, Vision will journey off to space for unknown reasons.  If this rumor holds true, it does shift some of the power to Cap’s side, as it was heavily weighted in Iron Man’s favor, at least in terms of firepower.

From a pragmatic standpoint, it could make sense that Vision’s allegiance shifts – deciding that Cap’s side is the more rational course based on his logic driven world view.

Of course, there is always the possibility that more than one character will change sides throughout the film, as allegiances are tested, and loyalties strained.  How do you feel about this rumor shifting the power balance?

Captain America: Civil War is set to release on May 6, 2016.

Whose side are you on?
