Ryan Reynolds Wanted To Play Another DC Hero Before Green Lantern

Green Lantern Deadpool Ryan ReynoldsBefore Ryan Reynolds finally hit the jackpot with the first Deadpool film, his luck with comic book movies were not so hot. He played a version of Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine that involved his mouth getting sewn shut and he was also in the abysmal DC Comics film Green Lantern as Hal Jordan.

Reynolds appeared at the Deadpool 2 San Diego Comic-Con presentation that explored the upcoming Super Duper Cut edition of the film. When asked about if he wanted to play another superhero in the past, Reynolds gave a surprising answer:

“I would say Wolverine, but God, I would be terrible. Honestly, I wanted to be the Flash – the Wally West version – but I think all of those ships have sailed.”

Can you imagine seeing Ryan Reynolds play Wally West in a new DC Film? Although it looks like that ship has sailed a long time ago, the idea of him in the role would be an intriguing sight. However, Reynolds has his beautiful connection to Deadpool that few actors and actresses of certain comic book characters have with their own characters.

What do you think of Reynolds comments? Would you have been interested in seeing how he would turn out as Wally West in a Flash film? Sound off in the comments below, and be sure to continue following Heroic Hollywood for all the latest Comic-Con news.
