Sam Raimi Says He ‘Messed Up’ On ‘Spider-Man 3’; Open To Working With Marvel Studios

While the two films that came before it were well-received, it’s no secret that both critics and audiences were quite disappointed with director Sam Raimi’s third Spider-Man film. The director himself even admit’s that he dropped the ball when it came to the film. While speaking with The Week, Sam Raimi admitted to the that he “messed up on that one”. Raimi additionally added that he’d be open to working with Marvel Studios, if the studio needed him.

I think they’re so complete now, Marvel. They probably don’t need me anymore. But if they needed me? I’d love to. It’s great to be wanted.

When asked about the newest incarnations of the character on the big-screen, Raimi revealed that while he has seen both of the films in The Amazing Spider-Man series, he hasn’t really stayed on “top of it”. Would you be interested in seeing Raimi take another crack at the character? Or perhaps there’s something else you’d like to see him direct? Let us know in the comments below. Meanwhile I’ll just sit here imagning a Raimi helmed Werewolf By Night project.
