Infinity Stones are clearly phenomenal objects of cosmic power, and they’re what Thanos hopes to use to wipe out both the Avengers and humanity by uniting them in the Infinity Gauntlet. So far, we’ve seen five of the six stones in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with only the Soul Stone left to make its appearance. Possessing even one of these gems grants wondrous powers to the holder, and Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson couldn’t resist grabbing one when he had the chance.
Answering questions via Twitter, he revealed that he snagged the Time Stone from the set of the movie.
I KEPT THE EYE OF AGAMOTTO! https://t.co/had5KeiSSC
— Scott Derrickson (@scottderrickson) March 2, 2017
In Doctor Strange, the gem was housed in the ancient artifact known as the Eye of Agamotto, which Doctor Strange utilized to take down Dormammu, setting time on an infinite loop until the villain gave in.
Otherwise, we’ve seen the other stones in previous Marvel movies:
- Space Stone – The Tesseract in Captain America: The First Avenger / The Avengers
- Mind Stone – Currently embedded in Vision’s forehead as seen in Avengers: Age of Ultron
- Reality Stone – The Aether in Thor: The Dark World
- Power Stone – On full display in Guardians of the Galaxy
With an Infinity Stone in his possession, Derrickson better watch out because Thanos is sure to be hot on his trail.
