The Longest Ride star Scott Eastwood replaces Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in this cool artwork that envisions the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
It’s not clear what Marvel Studios and its president Kevin Feige have planned for Wolverine and the X-Men characters going forward into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but this new artwork imagines Scott Eastwood replacing Hugh Jackman as the clawed hero. Hugh Jackman finally hung up his Wolverine claws in James Mangold’s 2017 X-Men movie Logan, which gave Wolverine an emotional ending to his arc in 20th Century Fox’s Marvel series. But the question for many Marvel fans is who’s going to pick up the role in the MCU.
This artwork from digital artist Jakub Maslowski imagines Scott Eastwood as the next Wolverine, replacing Hugh Jackman. The piece makes sure to give Scott Eastwood the hero’s iconic hairstyle while also giving him a cigar in the second photo of the Instagram post. Scott Eastwood would be a great fit for the role and is one of the most talked about names alongside Kingsman actor Taron Edgerton when it comes to replacing Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. Take a look at the fan art featuring Scott Eastwood below.
Do you want to see Scott Eastwood take on Wolverine now that Hugh Jackman won’t be playing him anymore? Or do you want to see someone else become Wolverine for the MCU? Sound-off your thoughts in the comments!
Marvel Studios, which now holds the film rights to Wolverine and the X-Men following Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox, confirmed plans to include mutants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe during its 2019 San Diego Comic-Con presentation. However, the studio is reportedly in no rush to introduce the X-Men to the MCU, meaning it will likely be some time before we learn who will replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.
