Gotham has introduced a lot of early versions of villains and supporting characters from the Batman mythology throughout their three seasons. The show even went as far as introducing Dick Grayson’s parents, John and May back in Season 1. While we haven’t seen them since that episode, it looks like we could see them again sometime in the near future.
Sean Pertwee, who plays Alfred Pennyworth on Gotham, recently appeared at Heroes & Villains Fan Fest in Nashville where he teased the potential return of the Graysons. But Pertwee also hinted that we could very well see the appearance of a young version of Dick at some point.
“She was pregnant when we saw her in the circus episode with Jerome, and presumably that’s Robin there in the tummy. We’ll see if that comes back around.”
Despite Pertwee’s comments, it was never revealed in that episode if Mary was actually pregnant. Although there is always the chance that they filmed a scene that ended up getting cut where the couple did perhaps reveal that Mary was pregnant. While it remains to be seen if a baby version of Dick will ever show up on Gotham, fans of the character can look forward to seeing the adult version of Dick Grayson a.k.a. Nightwing in the upcoming Titans TV series next year.
“Gotham’s origin story continues to unfold, and as the show enters its fourth season, the stakes will be higher than ever! With the Court of Owls decimated, the aftermath of the Tetch virus crippling the city, and every (surviving) villain in Gotham’s underworld jockeying for power, Jim Gordon and the GCPD will have their hands full. And that’s just the beginning! What threat does Ra’s al Ghul pose, and will Penguin regain his title as the King of Gotham? What new villains are in store for season four, and what does Bruce Wayne’s season finale reveal mean for Gotham City — and his ultimate destiny?”
Gotham Season 4 is set to premiere on Thursday, September 28 at 8/7c on FOX.

7 Essential Nightwing Stories For New Fans
Nightwing is easily one of the most iconic superheroes in the DC Universe (maybe even just in general) and he’s finally gearing up to hit the big screen. Dick Grayson is one of DC’s oldest characters, and as a result he has gone through major changes. The character started as the first ever Robin and has since developed his own heroic mantle as well as temporarily becoming Batman when Bruce isn’t available. He’s one of the few characters in comics audiences have seen grown up and change over time and that has led to a devoted fan-base who wants to protect the character.
He’s such a fan-favorite that his planned death in the 2005 event Infinite Crisis was scrapped out of fear of angry reactions. Nightwing might have the same skills as Batman, but his optimism and social abilities make him a positive character that other superheroes come to in times of crisis. So if you don’t know too much about the friendliest guy in the DC Universe, just pick up one of these books and dive in!
