This is a spoiler warning for Game of Thrones season six.
With only a week away before season six of Game of Thrones returns, casting news is being announced and a cast member from season three is returning. Paul Kaye, who plays Thoros of Myr/the drunken red priest of the Brotherhood without Banners will be returning for the sixth season. The actors agency announced his return on their website.
This appears to confirm rumors that surfaced earlier that Kaye had been filming for HBO. Not much is known about his role within the show but he became a fan favorite during his previous appearances.
“Following the shocking developments at the conclusion of season five, including Jon Snow’s bloody fate at the hands of Castle Black mutineers, Daenerys’ near-demise at the fighting pits of Meereen, and Cersei’s public humiliation in the streets of King’s Landing, survivors from all parts of Westeros and Essos regroup to press forward, inexorably, towards their uncertain individual fates. Familiar faces will forge new alliances to bolster their strategic chances at survival, while new characters will emerge to challenge the balance of power in the east, west, north and south.”
The show returns April 24 at 9 p.m. EST on HBO.
