Sebastian Stan Talks ‘Captain America: Civil War’ & Taking Up The Mantle

With Chris Evans set to shoot Avengers: Infinity War next year, it’s highly likely that Steve Rogers is going to be making it out of Civil War alive and well. But what’s next after that? While it does sound like Evans is interested in extending his contract, things aren’t definite at the moment and we have no idea what’s going to go down in Infinity War.

If Cap doesn’t make it out alive…will we see Bucky take up the mantle similar to the comics? Well, it doesn’t seem like Sebastian Stan is too interested in the idea. When asked by WeGotThisCovered if he’d be interested in taking up the mantle of Captain America, the actor responded:

No, I really wouldn’t. Let me tell you, I think about that every day [Laughs]. It’s so not up to me to be honest. I really enjoy my job over there, I’m really happy going to work and doing what I do, I love the character that I have…it’s up to a lot of different things, and whatever Marvel decides, I’m game.

When asked what we should expect from the film:

I mean, some brutal fighting. Some serious fighting like you haven’t seen before in any other film, which I’m proud to say. And a whole lot character and heart. Cause there’s a lot of people that are in the film but you’re going to get a lot of character from everybody.

Even though he doesn’t seem too interested in the idea himself, would you like to see Stan take over for Evans? Let us know in the comments below and get ready to choose your side when ‘Captain America: Civil War’ hits theaters May 6, 2016.
