Lou Lou Safran who seems to have been cast in an unknown role in DC’s upcoming standalone Shazam! may have revealed our first look at a shot from the film.
Plot details remain under wraps but Shazam! is set to follow teenager Billy Batson (Asher Angel) who has the ability to transform into an adult superhero with the power of six mythological gods after saying the word “Shazam”, as he goes up against the villainous Doctor Sivana (Mark Strong).
Safran shared a photo taken from behind the monitor on set of the production recently and the young actress may have revealed our first look at a potential shot from the film which is currently shooting in Toronto. You can check it out below.
Shazam! stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel as Billy Batson, Grace Fulton as Mary Marvel, Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freedman, Cooper Andrews and Marta Milans as Victor and Rosa Vasquez, Faithe Herman as Darla, Ian Chen as Eugene, Jovan Armand as Pedro, and Mark Strong as Doctor Sivana. Here’s the official synopsis:
“We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).”
Shazam! is slated to hit theaters April 5, 2019. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on Shazam! and the future of DC Films as we learn it.
