‘Shazam!’ Comic-Con Sneak Peek Show’s Zachary Levi’s Hero In Action

Shazam Movie Zachary Levi DCThe Shazam! sneak peek that made its debut at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con has been officially released online, giving fans a first look at Zachary Levi’s titular hero in action.

Shazam! premiered its footage to the public during today’s Warner Bros. Hall H panel, which also included the premiere of the first trailer for James Wan’s Aquaman. Check out the Shazam! sneak peek below!

Details on the film’s plot are currently unknown. Most tellings of the comic book story follow an orphan child named Billy Batson who is granted the ability to become an adult hero with godlike powers by the ancient Wizard.

Disney star Asher Angel has been cast as the young Billy Batson, with Zachary Levi playing the titular superhero. Grace Fulton, Cooper Andrews, Jack Dylan Grazer, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand and Faithe Herman are also on board, with Mark Strong as the villainous Doctor Sivana, a frequent foe of Shazam who first appeared opposite the superhero in the pages of Whiz Comics back in 1940.

Directed by David F. Sandberg from a script written by Henry Gayden and Darren Lemke, Shazam! hits theaters on April 5, 2019. Keep an eye on Heroic Hollywood as more details on this project come out.
