New ‘Shazam!’ Image Reveals Changes Made To Zachary Levi’s Costume In Post-Production

Zachary Levi Shazam DCWhen leaked set photos gave fans their first full-fledged look at Zachary Levi’s hero costume for the upcoming DC Extended Universe film Shazam!, it was met with a lot of criticism for its inflated look. Now a new image of the hero has been officially released that makes some aesthetic changes to the costume.

A Redditor took to putting both images side by side so fanboys could do a direct compare and contrast. At first glance, it seems that Levi is getting more comfortable in the role, though the comparison is a set photo versus an official movie photo the role has been able to marinate in the actor’s head for longer.

The image from Reddit points to two major changes in the costume, but the belt already the lightning bolt it is just the older images angle and lighting that make the bolt hard to see. One major difference between the Shazam of old and the Shazam of now is the character’s boots which have become segmented instead of single material. Check out the images side by side below:

Directed by David F. Sandberg, Shazam! stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Grace Fulton, Jack Dylan Grazer, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand and Mark Strong as Doctor Sivana. Here’s the official synopsis:

“We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).”

Shazam! is scheduled to be released in theaters on April 5, 2019.

10 Marvel & DC Villains Who Can Take Down Thanos

Previous1 of 11

Thanos Marvel DC Comics Darkseid GalactusThanos may have just taken down some of Marvel’s finest superheroes in Avengers: Infinity War, but he’s not the deadliest villain in comics. Both DC and Marvel are full of characters who are more powerful than the Mad Titan.

Admittedly, whenever Thanos is in possession of all six infinity stones he is the most powerful being in the universe, but anyone can harness that power if they successfully gather all the necessary components. If anything, Thanos is just incredibly patient and willing to wait to achieve his goals, a trait not many supervillains in DC or Marvel have. With the gauntlet, Thanos is essentially an immortal God who can snap his fingers and turn entire worlds to dust, but without it he’s just another villain who wants to rule the universe. He’s clearly a strong and terrifying guy, but if he were to face any of these villains without his Gauntlet, Thanos would be in big trouble.
