Simon Kinberg Confirms Shared Universe Within FOX’s ‘X-Men’ Properties

With X-Men: Apocalypse, Deadpool, Wolverine 3, Gambit and The New Mutants film coming out, the dawn of speculation began. Fans clamored to know if Deadpool and Gambit would join the X-Men Universe once again. After FOX’s failed attempt of bringing them to life in X-Men: Origins: Wolverine.

I even thought it would be difficult to bring in Deadpool since his solo outing is a “Hard R”. It looks like my thoughts were wrong, as Producer of FOX’s Marvel properties Simon Kinberg confirms that all of the chracters will be in a shared universe. While speaking with MTV Kinberg states:

The idea is that we’ve sort of reset the timeline after Days of Future Past in some ways, and if not erased, certainly allowed for change from X1, ’2, 3, everything from Days of Future Past forward, 1973, everything we set now becomes canon, so the Gambit movie, the Deadpool movie, will exist in a world that acknowledges whatever happened in Days of Future Past and moving forward. Doesn’t mean they’ll always interact with those characters, obviously, it’s not like every movie has all the characters, but they all have to exist within the same rules.

There will be interplay between different characters in different movies.

What do you guys think of Kinbergs comments? Were you one of the fans who wanted a shared universe for the X-Men? Sound of in the comments below.
