Thandie Newton’s Val Revealed As A Mudtrooper In New ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Image

Thandie Newton Star Wars Han SoloA new Topps card for Solo: A Star Wars Story has been revealed and the accompanying image offers a new look at Thandie Newton’s Val and Woody Harrelson’s Beckett.

Solo will offer audiences a look at one of the early adventures of the rogue smuggler, but a handful of new characters will make their Star Wars debut in the upcoming spin-off. Among the newcomers are Tobias Beckett and Val, who can be seen together down in the trenches in a new image revealing that Val is a Mudtrooper.

Directed by Ron Howard from a script written by Lawrence Kasdan and son Jon Kasdan, the film stars Alden Ehrenreich, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Joonas Suotamo, Paul Bettany and Ian Kenny.

Solo: A Star Wars Story will be released theaters May 25, 2018.

Solo A Star Wars StorySolo: A Star Wars Story is set to hit theaters later this year and will certainly be a departure for the franchise. Similar to Rogue One: A Star Wars StorySolo is going to be a prequel on the adventures of the smuggler originally played by Harrison Ford. Han Solo is one of the most memorable and iconic characters in the franchise whose origins we have yet to see fleshed out beyond knowing he is a smuggler. There’s a lot of fascinating potential here.

This is a film that seemingly isn’t that important for the franchise, but it easily could be. It could do a lot of things for the Star Wars canon and there is a lot to look forward to in this one. While it’s not inherently the most anticipated film in the franchise there are still a lot of things that will be exciting to see unfold on the big screen.
