New ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ TV Spot Reveals Lots Of New Footage

Solo Star WarsThe latest TV spot for Solo: A Star Wars Story from Lucasfilm reveals new footage from the upcoming Star Wars spin-off.

The new origin story centered on the young Han Solo played by Alden Ehrenreich features the scruffy looking nerf herder as he enters the world of smuggling and proves himself as a criminal — meeting Chewbacca (Joonas Suotomo) and the young Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover) along the way.

The new TV spot titled “Risk,” features new footage revealing Han and Lando wielding blasters side by side, as well as Beckett (Woody Harrelson) in action during the train heist, and the first look at a menacing Qi’Ra (Emilia Clarke). You can check it out below.

Solo: A Star Wars Story stars Alden Ehrenreich as the young Han Solo along with Joonas Suotomo as Chewbacca and Donald Glover as the young Lando Calrissian. The cast also includes Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Paul Bettany, and Ian Kenny. Here’s the official synopsis:

Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.

Solo: A Star Wars Story hits theaters on May 25, 2018.

Solo A Star Wars StorySolo: A Star Wars Story is set to hit theaters later this year and will certainly be a departure for the franchise. Similar to Rogue One: A Star Wars StorySolo is going to be a prequel on the adventures of the smuggler originally played by Harrison Ford. Han Solo is one of the most memorable and iconic characters in the franchise whose origins we have yet to see fleshed out beyond knowing he is a smuggler. There’s a lot of fascinating potential here.

This is a film that seemingly isn’t that important for the franchise, but it easily could be. It could do a lot of things for the Star Wars canon and there is a lot to look forward to in this one. While it’s not inherently the most anticipated film in the franchise there are still a lot of things that will be exciting to see unfold on the big screen.
