‘Sonic The Hedgehog’ Film Adds MCU Actors Adam Pally & Neal McDonough

Sonic the Hedgehog James Marsden Jim Carrey Ben ScwhartzMCU alumni Neal McDonough and Adam Pally have joined Paramount Picture’s Sonic the Hedgehog movie.

They will be joining Ben Schwartz, playing the titular blue blur, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, and Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik. The movie will be shot primarily in live-action but will feature a CGI Sonic (considering there are few thespian hedgehogs that can run super fast).

Adam Pally, known for his turn as Gary the camera-man in Iron Man 3, will be playing a supporting role as a friend to James Marsden’s character but McDonough, last seen in the MCU as ‘Dum Dum Duggan’, role remains undisclosed.

As it currently stands, the movie will feature Sonic (Ben Schwartz) dragging a local cop from South Dakota (James Marsden) on a cross-country road trip to retrieve his fabled golden rings before Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) can claim them for himself. It’s pretty easy to see how Pally’s part can fit into this synopsis as he will likely be the supportive, yet bewildered friend who’s witnessing Sonic’s shenangians but there’s no indication of how McDonough will fit into things. Could he be playing a supporting villain? Could he be voicing another CGI character? After all, his voice is pitch perfect for Knuckles.

Time will tell how these actors will fit into the plot but it’s great news to see the blue blur’s picture coming into focus.

Sonic the Hedgehog will be directed by Jeff Fowler and will star James Marsden and Tika Sumpter. It will be produced by Neil H. Moritz. Deadpool director Tim Miller will serve as Executive Producer along with Toby Ascher. Dmitri Johnson and Dan Jevons will serve as Co-Producers.

Sonic the Hedgehog hits theaters on November 15, 2019.
