The wait is almost over for Star Wars fans, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be released this December and anticipation is only increasing. Disney and Lucasfilm are moving full steam ahead with promotion for the film with a special Twitter live stream event taking place on Friday, December 2 at 10 a.m. PST. The event is being put together by Disney, Lucasfilm and People Magazine.
The live stream will feature never-before-seen content and a Q&A with Gareth Edwards, in addition to cast members from Rogue One including, Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk and Riz Ahmed.
Fans can become a part of the event by using the hashtag #AskRogueOne. Fans can submit their own questions to the cast and crew, which might be answered during the live stream.
All three partners on this event released statements expressing their excitement to use this type of medium to promote Rogue One. Anthony Noto, COO at Twitter released a press release regarding this unique opportunity.

Our collaboration with Disney and People will give fans fresh and exciting live Star Wars content that they can view and Tweet about all on the same platform.”
Ricky Strauss, President, Marketing, The Walt Disney Studios echoed that of Noto.

Jess Cagle, Editor in Chief at People, added that they have been covering Star Wars since it was released back in 1977.

While Rogue One isn’t expected to do Force Awakens numbers, it’s on track to be one of the biggest openings in December. Estimates have Rogue One making $140 – 150 million opening weekend.
Rogue One arrives in theaters on December 16th and stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, and Jonathan Aris.
