You might be asking yourself about the headline of this article. Sure, we knew that actor Tom Holland would be appearing as Peter Parker in next year’s highly-anticipated Captain America: Civil War, but we’ve yet to get any official confirmation that he would actually be suitting up at Spider-Man in said film. This is something that was just speculated widely for the time. Some of the cast and crew of the film have even played dumb on the subject. During their visit to the set, Entertainment Weekly spotted a was a stuntman on set in a very familiar outfit to which Kevin Fiege replied that “if there was a cosplayer running around that set when you were there, I don’t know what to tell you.” Well, the next part definitely debunks any chance of that just being a cosplayer as shortly after EW spotted a certain actor fully suitted up (well…minus the mask) during one of the film’s battle scenes.
Robert Downey Jr. also had a bit to add about the inclusion of the character in the film and stated that “[Don] Cheadle and I are just going, ‘Wow, dude, look at this. We’re now like the old guard, and our storyline carries real weight just because of our history in the [canon]. But we’re also looking around like, ‘Who thought that Falcon and Black Panther and Ant-Man and now Spider-Man…?’ I mean it’s like wow, this thing is just crazy.” From what is currently floating around, it sounds like we’re going to be seing very minimal of the character featured in promotion and that’s fine. Sure, maybe give us a sneak peek but if not, we’ll see you next year Spider-Man. Let us know your thoughts on all of this in the comments section below.
