‘Split’ Blu-Ray Special Features Include Alternate Ending

M Night Shyamalan Split Next Project
M. Night Shyamalan shocked the world with Split, a film which seems to be regarded as the best movie he’s made since his early career and is one of his most successful. The Blu-Ray release of the film will come with a number of special features, including an alternate ending.

Screen Rant is reporting that an alternate ending will be one of the major special features included, along with the obligatory assortment of deleted scenes. Other features are as follows:

  • The Making of Split: Filmmakers, cast, and crew discuss what attracted them to the project and how they were able to bring such a unique premise to life.
  • The Many Faces of James McAvoy: A look at how James McAvoy approached the challenge of playing so many different identities.
  • The Filmmaker’s Eye – M. Night Shyamalan: Director and writer M. Night Shyamalan has a singular, big-picture vision of his projects. Producers, cast, and crew discuss how Night’s process gives them the freedom to execute their roles to the fullest.

While the mental divisions of those with dissociative identity disorder have long fascinated and eluded science, it is believed that some can also manifest unique physical attributes for each personality, a cognitive and physiological prism within a single being. Though Kevin has evidenced 23 personalities to his trusted psychiatrist, Dr. Fletcher, there remains one still submerged who is set to materialize and dominate all the others. Compelled to abduct three teenage girls led by the willful, observant Casey, Kevin reaches a war for survival among all of those contained within him – as well as everyone around him – as the walls between his compartments shatter apart.

Split will be released on April 4 for the Digital HD format and on April 18 for Blu-Ray and DVD. The film stars James McAvoy, Anya Taylor-Joy, Betty Buckley, Haley Lu Richardson, and Jessica Sula, and Bruce Willis in a cameo role. A sequel to the film is currently in development.
