MASSIVE SPOILER WARNING: The following article reveals that a certain character makes a surprise appearance in Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War. Read at your own risk.
Avengers: Infinity War is full of dozens of surprises that will leave audiences breathless in their movie theater seats. Whether it is through certain character interactions, shocking story developments and so forth, the film is not short of some twists, turns and (good) shock value.
But one of the surprises that Marvel Studios managed to keep deeply under wraps was the triumphant return of the Red Skull, who was presumed dead in 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger.
When Thanos (Josh Brolin) and his daughter Gamora (Zoe Saldana) arrive in Vormir, they run into the keeper of the Soul Stone – who is revealed to be Red Skull. Red Skull tells Thanos that in order to retrieve the Soul Stone, he must sacrifice someone he deeply loves. A reluctant Thanos then throws his beloved daughter to her death as he fights through his tears before he retrieves the Soul Stone.
What did you think of the surprise appearance of Red Skull? Are you pleased that this previously unresolved bit of continuity was finally revealed nearly seven years after Captain America: The First Avenger?
