SPOILER WARNING: The following article reveals the details of Stan Lee and his cameo in Deadpool 2. Read at your own risk.
As per tradition for the majority of Marvel movies, the legendary Stan Lee often makes a cameo appearance as a tribute to his countless contributions to the comic book industry. Most of his cameos are quite humorous, with one of his most memorable being from the first Deadpool, in which he appears as a DJ at a strip club.
Lee’s cameo in the first Deadpool is often considered to be one of his funnier appearances. Lee also had a cameo in the extended version of the Deadpool: No Good Deed short that first premiered in front of theatrical showings of Logan. Fans have been wondering what Lee’s cameo in Deadpool 2 would be like, and it looks like we finally have the answer.
In the film, Lee’s likeness is seen as a massive painting on a wall mural during the hilarious scene in which Deadpool and the rest of the X-Force parachute down to, well… some unintended destinations. The painting of Lee is seen as Domino (Zazie Beets) glides past the painting as she descends down from the plane.
Although Lee does not have a traditional cameo in Deadpool 2, it’s still nice to see the filmmakers pay homage to him by creating this massive mural painting of the legendary comic book pioneer.
Here is the synopsis for Deadpool 2:
After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.
Directed by David Leitch, the film stars Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson/Deadpool, Zazie Beetz as Domino, Josh Brolin as Nathan Summers/Cable, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Stefan Kapcic as Piotr Rasputin/Colossus, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlysle, T.J. Miller as Weasel, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, and Karan Soni as Dopinder. Julian Dennison, Jack Kesy and Shioli Kutsuna join the cast in undisclosed roles.
Deadpool 2 is now playing in theaters.
5 Essential Cable Stories To Read Before His Debut In ‘Deadpool 2’
Now that it’s official Josh Brolin will be suiting up as Cable in Deadpool 2, it’s time for everyone to get a crash course on the character so they can say “that’s not how it happened in the comic” when they see the movie with their friends.
Nathan Summers, the future son of Cyclops and Jean Grey, first debuted in 1986, but he didn’t make his full debut as Cable until 1990. Rob Liefeld designed him to be a leader more prone to take action than Xavier and that character trait has persisted throughout his long history. Cable has fought alongside the X-Men in the past as well as fought for mutants survival against the government in a dark future.
Cable is the straight-man to Deadpool’s goofball and I can’t wait to see the two of them come together next year in Deadpool 2. Hopefully Ryan Reynolds and Josh Brolin have the chemistry to bring this legendary bro-mance to the bigscreen, otherwise Fox will be hearing from a lot of angry fans.
