Stan Lee loves the character of Spider-Man ever since he debuted on the pages of comics back in the early 1960s. Now in 2016, Tom Holland is wearing the suit on the big screen and bringing the character of Peter Parker/Spider-Man to life, as seen recently in Captain America: Civil War. Lee couldn’t be more proud of his portrayal.
During a panel at Denver Comic Con, Lee opened up about Holland taking on the role.
“Oh, he’s wonderful, I was with him the other day. He’s great. I can’t believe it. It’s as if we created a living being to be Spider-Man and it turned out to be Tom. Really!”
Holland will be appearing next in the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming. The cast, being directed by Jon Watts, continues to grow and fan anticipation for this film is reaching new heights.
Donald Glover, who was just recently added to the film, joins an impressive cast which so far includes Robert Downey Jr., Michael Keaton, Marisa Tomei, Zendaya, Tony Revolori, Laura Harrier, Michael Barbieri and Kenneth Choi. More cast members will likely be revealed soon as the project is currently gearing up to kick off production in Atlanta.
Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theaters on July 7, 2017.
