‘Star Trek: Discovery’ Ad Stresses Importance To ‘Remain Klingon’

Star Trek: Discovery FullerCBS All Access has unveiled a brand new promo for their newest series, Star Trek: Discovery. In particular, this new ad sheds a spotlight on the Klingons.

This new ad features a voiceover that teases at what’s to come in the series for the Klingons. The narrator then stresses that they must “Remain Klingon” even amidst all the threats that are coming to them. You watch the brand new promo down below:

Even as entertaining the new Star Trek movies have been, this series has always soared the most in the medium of television. For one, Star Trek worked best on the small screen because it allowed the showrunners to focus more on social commentary and philosophy and discussing those themes through the circumstances the characters experience.

That’s not to say that the new films haven’t showcased that aspect of classic Star Trek. Justin Lin’s Star Trek Beyond found a way to marry both the more action-oriented aspects of J.J. Abrams’ films with the sensibilities of classic Star Trek.

Either way, let’s hope that CBS All Access has something truly special on their hands with this. After all, this is Star Trek’s long-awaited return to television. It would be a pity if this series did not turn out to be good.

The series also stars Jason Isaacs as Captain Lorca of the USS Discovery, James Frain as Spock’s father, Sarek, Doug Jones as a Starfleet Science Officer and a member of a new alien species, Saru, Anthony Rapp the astrobiologist, fungus expert, and Starfleet Science Officer, Stamets, Rekha Sharma as Commander Landry, security officer of the Starship Discovery, Terry Serpico as Anderson, Maulik Pancholy as Nambue, Chris Obi as T’Kuvma, Shazad Latif as Lieutenant Tyler, Mary Chieffo as L’Rell, Mary Wiseman as Tilly, Rainn Wilson as Harry Mudd, Clare McConnell as Dennas, Damon Runyan as Ujilli, Kenneth Mitchell as Kol as well as Clare McConnell and Damon Runyan as Dennas and Ujilli, leaders in the Klingon Empire. Here’s the official synopsis:

STAR TREK: DISCOVERY will follow the voyages of Starfleet on their missions to discover new worlds and new life forms, and one Starfleet officer who must learn that to truly understand all things alien, you must first understand yourself.

Star Trek: Discovery premieres Sunday, September 24 at 8:30 p.m ET/PT on CBS with the following fourteen episodes coming exclusively on the CBS All Access streaming service weekly.
