While the scene itself was not intended to be humorous, some fans can’t help but laugh at the shocking moment in Star Wars: The Last Jedi where Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) tosses his old lightsaber over his shoulder, rejecting the plea from Rey (Daisy Ridley) to train her and return to the galaxy in order to bring balance back to the force.
Although the scene itself takes place after the opening of The Last Jedi, it technically places the audience right back at the end of the previous installment to the Skywalker Saga, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, picking up right where the JJ Abrams-directed film left off.
Video editor Jacob Martin took it upon himself to stitch together the two scenes, lending a much more humorous close to the finish of Episode VII. You can check it out in the video below.

5 Things To Look Forward To In ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’
Solo: A Star Wars Story is set to hit theaters later this year and will certainly be a departure for the franchise. This is a film that seemingly isn’t that important for the franchise, but it easily could be. It could do a lot of things for the Star Wars canon and there is a lot to look forward to in this one. While it’s not inherently the most anticipated film in the franchise there are still a lot of things that will be exciting to see unfold on the big screen.
