Disney has released a brand new trailer for the animated web series, Star Wars: Forces of Destiny.
The series follows the strong female characters of the franchise in short 2D animated installments. The installments are narrated by Maz Kanata and feature heroines such as Rey, Jyn Erso, Sabine Wren, Ahsoka tano, Hera Syndulla, Padmé Amidala and of course, Princess Leia. Other characters that join these strong women include Finn, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Anakin Skywalker and Yoda among others.
You can watch the trailer for the upcoming specials down below:
The animation on display exhibits a more warm, playful aesthetic compared to other animated outings for the franchise. The highlight of this trailer is the moment we see Sabine and Jyn meet and shake hands. That moment will certainly leave fans excited to see what that particular installment is all about.
The two brand new specials will feature eight never-before-seen installments. Several of the original performers behind certain characters reprise their roles for the series, including Daisy Ridley (Rey), John Boyega (Finn), Lupita Nyong’o (Maz Kanata), Felicity Jones (Jyn Erso), Tiya Sircar (Sabine Wren), Ashley Eckstein (Ahsoka Tano), Vanessa Marshall (Hera Syndulla), Catherine Taber (Padmé Amidala), and Matt Lanter (Anakin Skywalker).
The two new half-hour specials of Star Wars: Forces of Destiny will premiere on Disney Channel on October 1 and October 29 at 8 p.m. EST/PST respectively. Elsewhere, the final season of Star Wars Rebels premieres on Disney XD on October 16.
Fans will be returning to the galaxy far, far away on the big screen when Star Wars: The Last Jedi arrives in our galaxy on December 15, 2017.
