RUMOR: ‘Han Solo’ Spinoff Features A Brand New Millennium Falcon

Han Solo Millennium FalconAs Lucasfilm dials back the clock to chronicle a young Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich) from the years of 18-24 in his life, Star Wars fans may be treated to seeing the Millennium Falcon when it was a brand new ship.

Plot details for the second Star Wars spinoff remain under wraps but the film is said to feature the young Smuggler meeting Chewbacca and also acquiring the Millennium Falcon, which is owned by Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover) in the film. According to, the fastest ship in the galaxy is brand new under the ownership of Lando and will also feature a different paint job than fans are familiar with. The Falcon reportedly has a white paint job with blue accents as opposed to the hits of red we’re used to. In addition, it may also feature

In addition, it may also feature an attachment which hooks into the front of the ship and elongates the front end. The attachment itself is said to be able to be detached in order to drop a shipment of spice in case the pilot was to run into trouble with the Imperial Empire. While this isn’t confirmed, it would be the first time we would see the Corellian YT model freighter used to transport cargo — the ship’s intended purpose — in the franchise.

Ron Howard is directing The Untitled Han Solo Star Wars Story from a script written by Lawrence Kasdan and son Jon Kasdan. How to Train Your Dragon composer John Powell will be scoring the project and is said to be providing a symphonic score that will match the style of previous films in the franchise, however, the score will retain Powell’s unique voice.

The film stars Alden Ehrenreich as the young Han Solo along with Joonas Suotomo as Chewbacca and Donald Glover as the young Lando Calrissian. The cast also includes Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Paul Bettany, and Ian Kenny.

The Untitled Han Solo Star Wars Story is currently slated for release on May 25, 2018. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the future of the Star Wars franchise as we learn it.
