The 5 Best (& 5 Worst) Things About ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’

Previous1 of 11

Solo A Star Wars StoryLadies and gentlemen, Solo: A Star Wars Story is finally here. Disney’s second anthology film within the Star Wars universe, Solo is an origin story for everyone’s favorite intergalactic smuggler. Chock-full of Star Wars Easter eggs and exciting beats, the film walks a fine line between regurgitating and expanding on older concepts and pushing the franchise to new places.

Like any movie, Solo has its strengths and its weaknesses. Full of both small, emotional moments as well as explosive action sequences, the film does a good job at balancing the tone and story. While there are certainly things that deserve nitpicking in Solo, Disney and Lucasfilm should be proud of the final product.

I hope it happens too. I wonder if it’ll “save Star Wars” or if it will just branch off into the Restricted Star Wars Committee, like those people in Spain who think the Bible should only be printed in Latin

Science fiction should be printed in any language.

I would just call that ‘a’ response not a ‘perfect’ response. I’d love a remake but that’s unrealistic, the damage has already been done.

I am realistic enough to get that a “Last Jedi” remake will never happen, and really shouldn’t – though I wish I could “unlearn” Episode 8, as Yoda would say.

But Bob Iger is NUTS if he thinks a Ruin Johnson Trilogy should still be made. FIRE JOHNSON from Star Wars, defy HIS expectations and send him back to TV director obscurity where he belongs.
