Star Wars Marathon Event Will Lead Into ‘The Force Awakens’

In case you wanted to catch up on your Star Wars history, fans will be treated to all six of the previously released movies — beginning with The Phantom Menace — in 2D before the opening of Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 3D during the Star Wars Marathon Event coming December 17.

Regal Cinemas

Star Wars Sundays: Every Sunday, from December 29 to January 9, the first 500 patrons who purchase tickets to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens in IMAX will receive a collectible ticket showcasing original Star Wars: The Force Awakens artwork. New artwork will be unveiled each week.

AMC Theatres

Star Wars Sundays: Every Sunday, starting December 20 and ending January 10, movie-goers who purchase a ticket for Star Wars: The Force Awakens in IMAX 3D will be treated to an AMC-exclusive Star Wars print from artist Dan Mumford. A new poster will be unveiled each week.

Additionally, the opening will be celebrated at Walt Disney World with AMC Theatres. The Opening Night Event on December 17 will give guests the first viewing of The Force Awakens at AMC Disney Springs 24 and be followed by an after-hours party at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Cinemark

Cinemark is providing fans the chance to win a pair of exclusive RealD 3D Star Wars glasses. There are three ways you can your hands on them: By attending the Star Wars Marathon Event on December 17, attending the first showing of Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Thursday, December 17 in Cinemark XD, or by purchasing a Star Wars concession combo, available in November.

El Capitan Theatre

The latest addition to the galaxy far, far away will be presented in DOLBY VISION – state-of-the-art laser projection system that delivers fuller colors and visibly brighter images while maintaining deep and dark blacks. When coupled with DOLBY ATMOS sound systems, which delivers rolling audio that envelops you in three-dimensional space, the viewing experience will astoundingly realistic.

Audiences will also be treated to an extensive display of costumes and props from the film and be the first to see an all-new laser lightsaber curtain show. 

Plus, on opening day you can get an exclusive collectible BB-8 button.

Fandango

Those who purchase their Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie tickets on Fandango will be entered into a sweepstakes for the opportunity to win a trip to the movie’s world premiere. Purchasing your tickets within the first 24 hours will increase your chances to win the big prize! For those that miss out on the top spot, ten runner-ups can win a collectible “Dark Side” or “Light Side” prize pack.
