‘Star Wars’: Padmé Amidala Returns In New ‘Thrawn: Alliances’ Poster Art

padme-star-warsPadmé Amidala, former Queen of Naboo, will return in the upcoming Star Wars novel, Thrawn: Alliances, and appears in newly released poster art.

Timothy Zahn’s sequel to Star Wars: Thrawn, Alliances, will mark the return of Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala in canon. New poster art for the novel was revealed on Wednesday’s episode of The Star Wars Show showcasing Padmé on the new planet of Batuu. If that name sounds familiar, it’s because Batuu is the name of the planet for Disney World and Disneyland’s upcoming theme park, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The Padmé poster art will be only available with the Barnes & Noble exclusive edition.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is set to open in both Disneyland and Disney World Hollywood Studios in 2019. A smaller experience replicating at least some of the rides — but perhaps not the entire Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge experience — is set to open in Disneyland Paris at some point after 2021, when construction begins.

Author Timothy Zahn is back with the highly-anticipated follow-up to last year’s bestselling Thrawn novel. This time, Grand Admiral Thrawn and Darth Vader must join forces on a mission for the Empire. But it’s not the first time the two have crossed paths.

Thawn: Alliances hits shelves July 24th and  a special edition cover will be available exclusively at San Diego Comic-Con starting on July 19th.
