‘Star Wars Rebels’ BTS Featurette Goes Inside The Obi-Wan/Maul Rematch

Star Wars Rebels Obi-WanEntertainment Weekly has revealed a clip from a featurette included with the upcoming home release for the third season of Star Wars Rebels, offering a behind the scenes look at the rematch between Obi-Wan Kenobi and (formerly Darth) Maul.

In the clip, Star Wars Rebels executive producer Dave Filoni takes us inside the duel, highlighting Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai as his main inspiration for the rematch. Fans had been anticipating the rematch since the midseason trailer released in January, revealing the series would feature Ben Kenobi in his time on Tatooine prior to Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.

Kenobi is voiced by Stephen Stanton with Sam Witwer once again lending his vocal talents to Maul in the episode. You can check out the clip from the featurette below.

Star Wars Rebels was created by Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future PastSherlock Holmes), and Carrie Beck. The Lucasfilm animated series is executive-produced by Filoni and Kinberg.

The series features the voice cast of Freddie Prinze Jr. as Kanan, Vanessa Marshall as Hera, Steve Blum as Zeb, Tiya Sircar as Sabine, Taylor Gray as Ezra, Sam Witwer as Maul, Dee Bradley Baker as Captain Rex, David Oyelowo as Agent Kallus, and Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn.
