‘Star Wars Resistance’ Set For October Debut; First Look At Characters Revealed

Star Wars ResistanceThe first look at the new characters of Lucasfilm’s next animated series, Star Wars Resistance has been revealed, along with a tease for when fans should expect to the series to make its debut on Disney XD.

Taken during RDVDisney 2018, the picture shows the designs of the new characters for the forthcoming animated series, along with the sequel trilogy’s Poe Dameron and Captain Phasma. It was also confirmed that the series will launch in October of this year. Check out the tweets below.

The new animated series will feature appearances by Poe Dameron and Captain Phasma, with Oscar Isaac and Gwendoline Christie reprising their roles. The series will also feature the voice cast of Christopher Sean (Days of Our Lives), Suzie McGrath (East Enders), Scott Lawrence (Legion), Myrna Velasco (Elena of Avalor), Josh Brener (Silicon Valley), Donald Faison (Scrubs), Bobby Moynihan (DuckTales), Jim Rash (Community), and Rachel Butera (Tammy’s Tiny Tea Time).

Disney’s second anthology film within the Star Wars universe, Solo is an origin story for everyone’s favorite intergalactic smuggler. Chock-full of Star Wars Easter eggs and exciting beats, the film walks a fine line between regurgitating and expanding on older concepts and pushing the franchise to new places.

Like any movie, Solo has its strengths and its weaknesses. Full of both small, emotional moments as well as explosive action sequences, the film does a good job at balancing the tone and story. While there are certainly things that deserve nitpicking in Solo, Disney and Lucasfilm should be proud of the final product.
