According to The Hollywood Reporter, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set to become the highest-grossing film of all time at the North American box office before the end of the day. On Tuesday, The Force Awakens brought in an estimated $8 million, which means that the movie has now grossed $758 million domestically. On Wednesday, Star Wars: The Force Awakens will surpass Avatar‘s domestic total of $760.5 million. The James Cameron-helmed science fiction film needed 72 days to earn that amount, while The Force Awakens needed 20 days. The movie opens this week in China, however, it doesn’t look like it will be able to surpass Avatar‘s worldwide record. Currently, it has earned $799.1 million overseas for a worldwide total of $1.56 billion. What do you guys think? Sound-off your thoughts in the comment section below.
