‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Is A Continuation Of ‘The Skywalker Family Saga’

Star Wars The Force Awakens is heading to theaters very shortly. In a recent interview with Kathleen Kennedy for The Costco Connection some very interesting details were shed about the legacy of Star Wars as a whole.

In addition to discussing the past, Kennedy also made an interesting comment about the future of these films and revealed an interesting revelation.

The Saga films focus on the Skywalker family saga. The stories follow a linear narrative that connects to the previous six films, The Force Awakens follows Return of the Jedi and continues that generational story

This comment from her could reflect that a rumor of one of the leads being a Skywalker relative may actually be the case. Fans have speculated this for some time and the main target for possibility of being a Skywalker would be the character Rey portrayed by Daisy Ridley.  This statement from Kennedy is the first time that someone from Lucasfilm has explicitly mentioned this possibility.

Star Wars The Force Awakens opens in theaters on December 18th, 2015.

What do you think of this being a Skywalker continuation? Let us know in the comments!
