It may not seem this way, but production for the upcoming DC series Titans is well underway. Though the idea of a live-action version of the beloved superhero team originally reached the masses in 2014 and was set to air on TNT, the project was canned before being picked up to be a focal point in of DC’s streaming service. Now, thanks to actress Anna Diop (Starfire), we have our first behind-the-scenes look at the series.
In a video tweeted on Thursday, which you can see below, Diop is getting VFX work done to bring Starfire to life. Though it may go without saying an orange, flying alien probably needs some special effects, this could give some insight into how much VFX work will be done as opposed to something more practical.

Though she’s not in the orange makeup just yet, it probably isn’t long before fans get a glimpse at that — and the entire team for that matter. Apart from Beast Boy, the principal cast has been announced, with Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson , Teagan Croft as Raven, Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly as Hawk and Dove and Lindsey Gort as Detective Amy Rohrbach.
The series is set to debut in 2018 with 13 episodes and will anchor this new streaming service alongside a new season of Young Justice.
Here’s the official synopsis:
“Titans explores one of the most popular comic book teams ever. It follows a group of young soon-to-be superheroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. In the action-adventure series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes that includes Starfire, Raven and others.”
