This past year director Andy Muschietti’s retelling of Stephen King’s classic horror novel IT became one of the most popular films of the year after smashing box office records by becoming the highest grossing horror film of all time and a hit with both moviegoers and critics.
However, the story is far from over as Pennywise (Bill Skarsgård) will once again haunt theaters on September 6, 2019 in the film’s follow-up, IT: Chapter Two which will no doubt tell the story of the now adult Losers Club as they must once again come into conflict with the nefarious dancing clown.
While the adult members of the Losers Club have yet to be cast where does that leave the original film’s young cast? CinemaBlend recently caught up with two of the club’s young members as Jeremy Ray Taylor (Ben) revealed how he felt the younger incarnation of the club could return in the upcoming sequel:
“So like flashbacks or maybe us going our separate ways at the Blood Oath. Showing where we go and stuff. I don’t know, but I’m super excited for it.”
Co-star Wyatt Oleff (Stanley) added that although nothing has been confirmed as far as the film’s original young cast making an appearance in IT: Chapter Two, the actor did advise, “They’ve like hinted towards it, but they haven’t told us anything passed that.”
Considering the amount of praise the film’s young cast received from critics and fans alike, it is hard to imagine IT: Chapter Two not having some sort of an appearance from the younger embodiment of the Losers Club.
The film stars Bill Skarsgård as Pennywise the Clown, Jaeden Lieberher as Bill Denbrough, Jeremy Ray Taylor as Ben Hanscom, Sophia Lillis as Beverly Marsh, Finn Wolfhard as Richie Tozier, Jack Dylan Grazer as Eddie Kaspbrak, Chosen Jacobs as Mike Hanlon, and Wyatt Oleff as Stanley Uris. Here’s the official synopsis:
Based on Stephen King’s best-selling novel. A group of young kids face their biggest fears when they seek answers to the disappearance of children in their hometown of Derry, Maine. They square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.
IT is available on Digital HD on December 19 followed by the 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, and DVD on January 9.
