Following two teasers, Netflix has finally released the first full trailer for the highly-anticipated Stranger Things 2, the sequel season to last summer’s smash hit series about the vanishing of a young boy in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana.
Hawkins is set to face a new monster this season as the world is now turning upside down itself. The adventure continues one year later in the fall of 1984 as the series explores the consequences of the time Will (Noah Schnapp) spent in the Upside Down and the interdimensional gate that is still open at the Department of Energy. Season two has been teased as bigger and darker than the first season but will still include plenty of heart as it remains faithful to the world established in the first season of the streaming service’s ’80s homage.
You can watch the first full trailer for Stranger Things 2 below.
Stranger Things was created by Matt and Ross Duffer aka The Duffer Brothers who both direct and produced the series under their Monkey Massacre banner along with co-executive producer’s Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen of 21 Laps Entertainment. The series is written by The Duffer Brothers as well as Justin Doble, Jessie Nickson-Lopez, Paul Dichter, Jessica Mecklenburg, Alison Tatlock, and Kate Trefry.
Stranger Things 2 stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, and Noah Schnapp. The series has also added Sean Astin (The Goonies), Paul Reiser (Aliens), Brett Gelman (Jobs), Dacre Montgomery (Power Rangers), Danish actress Linnea Berthelsen, and Broadway star Sadie Sink into the mix as well. Here’s the official synopsis:
It’s 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are still reeling from the horrors of the Demogorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived.
Stranger Things 2 hits Netflix October 27, 2017.
